Personal Care Assistance (PCA) Services
Life Superior is a state-licensed provider of personal care assistance (PCA) services for children and adults under the age of 65. PCA services include help with a variety of activities, including:
- Daily living activities such as grooming, bathing, and eating,
- Accompanying to medical appointments and activities in the community,
- Help with certain household tasks like meals and shopping,
- Observing and redirecting behaviors, and
- Basic health-related tasks, such as medicine assistance, seizure interventions, and passive exercise.
For Minnesota state health plans and health waivers, people who are authorized for PCA services can select one of two models: traditional PCA or PCA Choice.
Traditional PCA
- Agency-directed
- Agency recruits, hires, and trains staff
- Agency pays staff and manages paperwork
- Caregiver wages are competitive
PCA Choice
- Consumer-directed
- You recruit and train staff
- Agency pays staff and manages paperwork
- Caregiver wages are competitive

245D Waiver Services
Those that are on a 245D waiver and eligible for additional services may have their caregiver trained by Life Superior so that they can provide those services.
Homemaker
- Light housekeeping, including cleaning and laundry
- Food shopping and preparation
- Shopping for food, clothing, and household supplies
Individualized Home Supports
With and without training
- Community participation
- Health, safety, and wellness
- Household management
- Adaptive skills
In-home Respite Care
Short-term care services provided to a person when their primary caregiver is absent or needs relief.
Life Superior supports the following waivers:
- CADI (Community Access for Disability Inclusion)
- DD (Developmental Disabilities)
- BI (Brain Injury)
- CAC (Community Alternative Care)
